The Muse A Rothvale Legacy Historical Book 1 edition by Raine Miller Romance eBooks Reviews
Incredible read from the very talented writer Raine Miller. What an exceptional portrayal of love between two people! The telling of this tale takes us on a journey of passion through art, poetry and literature. I definitely felt transported back in time with the telling of this Historical tale and it was as though I experienced everything right along with the characters. Such emotional highs and lows!! It was a roller-coaster ride of grand proportions as we follow the story of Graham and Imogene. The attention to detail really paints us a visual picture of the feelings these characters go through...their joy, their pain, their love for each other. Really a very magical book that will take you on a beautiful and heartfelt ride.
What a great historical love story. Graham saw Imogene and was immediately attracted to her. He did not hide his attraction to her even though his family teased him about it they were so happy to see that he was interested in her. Imogene also was attracted to Graham. She did not deny her feelings and they became engaged and was married soon after. This is a story of two people madly in love with each other. Imogene did not let Graham get away with anything. It is a story of two people getting to know each other and loving each other so deeply that hem they are in a room together they notice no one else. They have their troubles and heartache but they learn and go on with life. Part very enjoyable story. Cannot wait for The Rogue where we should get glimpses of Graham and Imogene. Raine is a brilliant writer and none of her books have disappointed me. Thank you Raine!
I was gifted a copy for an honest review I also purchased the paperback.
I am speechless after reading The Muse. It is breathtaking, heartbreaking, beautiful, passionate. I felt like I was back in time with Graham and Imogene the entire time I was reading. I get tears in my eyes thinking about this story. The love that Graham and Imogene have for one another is "priceless".
Raine is brilliant and so talented. I love her writing style and her historical novels are done so beautiful. If you have never read a historical you need to read hers. I am never disappointed with any of her books. The are more than 5 stars.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes.
"If you could see into my dreams, my innocent beauty, I am afraid you would be soundly shocked at my wicked thoughts. It is a good thing they are private."
"You are like a sleepy kitten now. Quite a transition from the wild, untamed feline of before."
"It is priceless to me. Priceless. Thank you for such a beautiful gift. I treasure it as I treasure you."
We all love her. Remember that beautiful woman who captured your heart? She is lost right now and needs your help in finding her way back. Help her, Graham. Help her to come back to the world of living, with all of its painful realities.
They became one body, one heart, and one mind together.
I can not tell you enough to read this!!! It is truly AMAZING!!!
I enjoy Raine Miller's writing style and this book did not disappoint.
This novel follows the ancestors of present-day Ivan Everly (Lord Rothvale and cousin to Ethan Blackstone of the Blackstone Series), specifically Graham Everly and his bride-to-be, Imogene Byron-Cole. The reader is also introduced to Tristin Mallerton, painter, whose paintings are part of the Blackstone Series, as well as The Rothvale Legecy Series. Can you begin to see how Ms. Miller weaves the past and present together so well?
As the reader, we see what life is like at the Rothvale estate and how Graham copes with this responsibility that he was not born to but rather inherited when his older brother died. We also see how much he misses painting, something he trained for in Paris, and how he uses his talent to capture his love for his wife on canvas. The passion, wanting and sexual fulfillment are woven nicely into the story line, rather than a thin story line with one bang session after another. Personally, I prefer a good story with a fare amount of sexual encounters, which Ms. Miller does quite well, rather than a thin story line that barely ties one sexual romp to another. A good story with sex is so much more enjoyable to read and rather enhances the meetings of two bodies/hearts/souls.
There is great love between these two people, and also extreme sadness and loss. Imogene is Graham's equal in everyway and they find strength in each other when unexpected tragedy overwhelms them. In the end, they find their HEA and the Rothvale family lives on in present day in Ms. Miller's novel "Priceless".
Enjoy a good read!
